WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) _ The West Fargo Hockey Association has raised about $80,000 from tickets sold for a gun raffle held as a fundraising event in the eastern North Dakota city.
The association sold 4,000 tickets for the event held Saturday night.
The raffle was held to help get money to build a new ice rink for the association.
Association members say they have 400 young hockey players, but only two available rinks. They say that presents difficulties in scheduling hockey practices.
The raffle was initially scheduled for last month, but was postponed when an anticipated large turnout caused permitting problems.
