Minot council rejects plan for new Walmart store
MINOT, N.D. (AP) _ The Minot City Council has rejected plans for a new Walmart store on the city's north side.
The council voted 7-6 to approve the zoning and annexation. But that fell one vote short of the necessary majority to pass the ordinances.
Council member Bob Miller abstained from voting because he's a Walmart employee.
Minot has a Walmart on the city's south side. But residents complained that adding another store on the north side of town would increase traffic there.
